Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress is the 16th game in the Beatmania IIDX series of music video games. It was released in arcades by Konami on November 19, 2008 (11 months since the arcade release of Beatmania IIDX 15: DJ Troopers). The game features over 50 new songs, some of which are unlocked over Konami's e-Amusement platform. The design of Empress's interface is based on a pink color scheme, dominated by sparkles, butterfly wings, and motifs of royalty and jewellery. A PlayStation 2 port for the game was released on October 15, 2009, simultaneously in Japan and South Korea.
The home version was released on October 15, 2009. Unlike previous home version, the home version of Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress contain two discs. The first one is the EMPRESS disc, which contains songs from the arcade version, home version-originals, and some revivals. The second, called PREMIUM BEST disc, contains the rest of the revivals which selected from the whole Beatmania IIDX games.
Each disc contains 99 songs, adding the total to 198 songs. It is speculated to be the final release of home version of Beatmania IIDX, because no home version was released after this game. ESR Patched and tested. Working 100% on my FMCB fat PS2. This upload containes both disks. This is part 1 of 2.
I'm a huge fan of rhythm-games (pretty good at Taiko no Tatsujin, decent at Osu! And Pop'n) and I want to get into Beatmania, kinda wanna play in smaller local tournaments since there is no Taiko-community/scene where I live.
I am interested in playing Beatmania at home with an Arcade Style Controller, there are no arcades where I live and I only have played Beatmania once on an arcade but I really enjoyed it. Any tips for beginners?
I've been thinking of buying and maybe connect it to a PS2 with Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress on a CRT tv. Is that a sensible plan?
Beatmania Empress
Otherwise could I play Beatmania on PC? I'd be happy to hear your opinions.
It's a softmod of sorts that runs off of a PS2 memory card. Combine this with and you can easily run backups. It doesn't allow you to run legit copies in a different region PS2 though, for that a swap disc is probably the easiest if you can find one. If you got any friends with a modded PS2 they can easily create a memory card for you. If you by any chance happen to live in Sweden I'd be happy make one.
Beatmania Ps2 Controller
There used to be a list of people on the Free McBoot forums who did so aswell but I'm not sure how up to date it is. If you want to play newer stuff LR2 is probably the easiest way to go unless you really want to run AC data for some reason.
